Someone Gets It Partly Right
"The people who support this bill want to end all abortion."
(Well, okay, it wasn’t exactly that, but that was the gist of her sound bite. I’m vague on the details, but the quip stuck in my head. Flunk me if you must.)
Gee, besides the broad brush-painting that would get any Republican’s name plastered all over the front page, the sound bite-giver misses the point that, even without a complete description of a dilation-extraction abortion, most Americans oppose the widespread availability of the procedure. When a description is included in the survey, the opposition goes up sharply (which is why the pro-choicers don’t explain a D&E procedure in their support literature).
What does she care? I doubt pro-lifers could declare "two plus two is four" without a statement from her declaring her opposition.
