When Polls No Longer Matter
Now that we’re less than a month away from Election Day, the opinion polling is becoming more intense, and at the same time more unpredictable. The growing noise level in the polls makes them essentially useless, as the campaign rhetoric becomes more intense.
The one poll I will watch for is the Weekly Reader poll. It shows, via our grade-schoolers, what adults are saying behind closed doors. As such, it gives the clearest pre-election picture of the national sentiment.
