Ground rules

Rules keep things sane in an otherwise insane world. Since this is a publicly viewable discussion, here are some rules to help keep things on track.

  1. All comments, whether articles or related discussion, are owned by their respective authors, not the site administrator. By posting here, you agree to hold the site and its administrator harmless, and you acknowledge your ownership of your posted comments.
  2. I am the only one allowed to post articles. It may seem egotistical, but it’s my website, my board. Any outside attempts to post articles will be routed to the virtual bit bucket. This does not mean I won’t read your submission; it does mean I won’t post it. This is not negotiable.
  3. Discussion is allowed, but try to keep it on-topic.
  4. Profanity beyond “damn” and “hell” will not be tolerated. Try to keep things agreeable to a very mature 13-year-old audience, with parental supervision. Any comments going beyond that will result in (a) immediate termination of the user account and (b) denial of access to the entire system, i.e. all connection attemps will be ignored. If your address looks like some sort of dial-up, your entire domain will be dropped. This also is not negotiable. The same goes for porn links, spam, racism, sexism, or baiting/bashing.
  5. Don’t post personal contact info, other than email. This is just good sense. If you really want to swap that kind of information, do it in email. Posting contact information (yours or someone else’s) other than email will result in the termination of your user account. I will not be held responsible for your ineptitude.

The rules are open for discussion and possible revision, but this is a good start.

oh :P~~ on your stinky rules! Your no fun at all.
Seriously, I have a thing about rules. I got in trouble once that resulted in a personality profile being generated. It included 2 categories (among many), the first was respect for authority…the second was desire for structure (i.e. how much does the subject like having rules to follow).
Turns out I like rules and can’t stand the people that make them…interesting combination, don’t you think?

Oh, come on, they’re the same rules as before! In fact, I recovered this document from Google’s cache.
Of course, I’m not going to stop you from starting your own blog. After all, what’s the motto here? If your postings are any indication of your thought processes, you should look into it.
Just think of this blog as a burbclave from “Snowcrash”: a little spot in the world, with its own set of rules.

Yes, I know they are the same rules as before. I’m not criticizing. I can’t say that my rules would be that different. I’m just expressing my thoughts about rules. Which, specificity aside, is the topic of conversation, no?
Incidentally, that part about not liking the people that make rules…doesn’t mean you…its a general personality trait. Just clarifying, didn’t want you to think I was commenting on you personally. :)

John’s nothing but a big ol’ stinky poopy-head and he should be flogged soundly about the head with a tire iron.
BTW … did I mention that he’s a blockhead too?

Eh? Almost sounds like you know him personally…

yeah, but why she is maligning me so, I don’t understand. Stinky, sure. Absentminded, inconsistent…all of these things, I will own up to but ‘blockhead’? No.

Need I remind you of the swollen dog head and skittles incident? eh????
